Making of O Vennila

Recently I did a music video. It was a great experience doing that. First of all, choosing the song for the video was the first question I had to put forth to myself. Since I love the music compositions of a lot of composers, I had to put in a few more criteria. I knew I was serious about it and so thought I had to get highly professional co artists, and that meant I had some cost involved. Since I was quite constrained by finance, I restricted to have a single co artist. And I felt it was obvious that I would need the support of a keyboard synthesizer if not anything else. That gave me a hint on the type of song I could do. A song with minimal percussion. I had heard quite a few songs from A. R. Rahman that had very less percussion, but still extremely wonderful. The songs that came to my mind were O Vennila from Kadhal Desam, Tendrale Tendrale again from Kadhal Desam, Rasatti from Thiruda Thiruda, En kathale from Duet, Dheemi Dheemi, eeshwar allah from 1947 earth, en mel vizhunt...
